In 2007-2008,
Prairie Valley School Division and Southeast
Regional Library worked together on the TIME TO READ Program
for the Partnerships for Community Learning Resources
Grant. to
promote the home connection for reading
success. Prairie Valley School Division continues to
support this initiative as a component of Pathways to
Literacy, to build avid and engaged readers in our school
communities.
Teacher-librarians throughout the school
division provide leadership in implementing this initiative
to encourage and support children/families in the love of
reading. The project involves motivational reading
activities, book rewards, author readings and parent events.
These parent sessions suggest strategies to build their
child’s interest and abilities in reading for recreation |
